Kirk Settee

This burnt orange settee is part of a set of Lilla Kirk furniture donated as museum pieces by Mrs. Cynthia Glendinning, great granddaughter of Lilla Kirk. The furniture pieces are Aesthetic (Victorian) style and date to the 1870s/1880s, and part of a set of furniture, all with a carved horseshoe surrounding a rose on top back.. Mrs. Cynthia Glendinning & her husband presently live in the Rose Hill Plantation Equestrian community and the chairs belonged to her great grandmother Lilla Kirk (Dr. James Kirk's daughter). Dr. James Kirk was the son of James Brown Kirk and brother of Caroline Kirk (and cousin of Dr. John Kirk).
